How to Uplift your Bad Mood?
We all have days in which we are occupied with some not so good thoughts; some kind of activity affects our mind and we are bothered by it. We keep thinking about them. These moments do not have a major significance in our lives in the future but at the moment we are full of them.
These thoughts make us do things which hurt us as well as others. We tend to get angry, we tend to say things or do things which spoil our relationship with them. To shield from all this, we should try Yogic ways to help us calm down during that time.
To overcome in these situations, our mind should focus on adopting positive habits in life. We should spend more time in nature, which gives us peace of mind. We should also do Pranayama.
Patanjali Yoga Sutra explains that when we try and keep our mind into positive activities, when we see only positive things in an act or person and are only affected by their virtues- our mind is more relaxed, calm and positive. It explains 4 ways to uplift your mood:
- Celebrate Happiness: Find happiness in everything. If you go out to celebrate someone else’s happiness, try and be a part of it. Don’t get jealous of others.
- Be compassionate in misery: When somebody is going through a tough time, be there for them rather than enjoying. Help them overcome their misery. It will make you feel good naturally.
- Promote the Virtues: Promote the goodness in others, don’t just keep it to yourselves. Even when you are sad spread their goodness and it will definitely come back to you.
- Indifference towards the vice: There are lots of people who we cannot understand- money minded, materialistic. It is us who should see the positive light in them and guide them toward goodness.
Try and find goodness in everyone and every situation, even if it means that we have to go deep into it. Don’t get stressed out by hard times. Try and overcome these as quickly as possible.
